The legendary Cyril Small got Liberty’s Gift ($7) home in the first race at Gladstone yesterday. Wearing the Riding for Abbie silks, Cyril and Liberty’s Gift set the Gladstone track alight, setting a New Track Record, beating the short priced favourite Exocet Rocket ($2.25F) to bring up the first leg of a race to race double for trainer Lee Kiernan. In third place was Harry Rocket ridden by Ms Trinity Bannon for John Manzelmann.

Congratulations to all connections, including the great Dave Weinert who is an owner of Liberty’s Gift and hard working president of the Gladstone Race Club.
