Splitz to challenge Country Cup qualifier

Toowoomba trainer Matt Kropp’s Country Cup Challenge campaign kicks off at Blackall on Saturday with Splitz heading to the qualifier to be run over 1400m.

Splitz, a Sepoy 6-year old gelding, has been a revelation since joining the all-conquering Kropp stables with 9 wins from 26 including 3 of his last 4 starts.

Stable spokesman and part owner, Rob Picking, is hopeful of snaring a qualifying spot on December 5 but is very wary of 2019 Queensland Country Racing Horse Of The Year Fab’s Cowboy.

“How can you right off Fabs Cowboy? Fab’s loves this type of surface but all we can do is go out there and hope we can get the job done” Picking said.

It will be a busy day for Picking who races in ownership with great friend Matt Clough (Vac Truck Industries owner & sponsor of On The Bit Racing Australia)  who also has promising galloper Enterprise Grand (Class 4 Plate 1200) and Done It Again (Class 1) also accepting for the Blackall meeting with all horses to be ridden by leading jockey Matt Gray.
